As we wrap up June and enter Q3 shopping, Etsy continues to release new seller features. They are moving away from the blunder with the Etsy AI titles tool introduced last year and integrating the AI wave in more meaningful ways helping to monitor store performance, understand buyer behavior better, and communicate with customers.

New Etsy AI Tools - Summer 2026

Etsy has now published a broader overview of how it is using AI to support stores, with tools designed to save time and help us make more informed decisions about shop strategy. Like every new Etsy release, there is a catch. Many of these tools are still being tested, rolled out gradually, or available only to selected shops for now. So this is not a “set it and forget it” moment. It is more of a first look at where Etsy is heading and how we can start preparing.

Let’s unpack what’s new, why it matters, and how these AI-powered updates can become part of our SEO and growth toolkit.

1. Shop Stats Summaries and Stats Assistant: AI is entering the Etsy Stats page

One of the most interesting updates is the introduction of AI-powered Shop Stats summaries and the new Stats Assistant.

Shop Stats summaries are designed to highlight key takeaways from your performance data, including visible trends and factors that may be influencing your results. Etsy is currently testing these AI-powered summaries, and availability may vary as the feature rolls out to more stores.

This is important because it signals a bigger shift. Until now, Etsy introduced generative AI for titles creation and this one didn't work out great. But now the development team is tapping into AI's ability to process analytical data quickly and this is definitely a direction we are eager to leverage.

Currently informed performance decisions require manually looking through visits, conversion rate, traffic sources, listing performance, and order data both at the store level and in many cases in tens and hundreds of listings individually - in order to understand recent trends and developments inside the store. This is still necessary, but AI summaries promise to make it easier to quickly spot patterns that may be missed, especially for bigger stores.

For example, instead of only seeing that visits dropped or sales increased, the tool may help point out which factors may be connected to that movement. This could include changes in traffic, stronger performance from certain listings, shifts in buyer behavior, or areas that need more attention.

That's what we are looking towards at least. At this point from tests we've run, it seems the AI analysis only takes into account overall shop data for 6-12 months, e.g. most of the highlights are quite superficial and we still don't have any deeper insights into movements from recent weeks or for specific listings.

But Etsy is promising a next layer addition called "the Stats Assistant" which should take this one step further. It should allow us to ask specific questions about shop performance directly inside the Shop Manager and if it covers individual listing data, a tool like this might allow for better real-time monitoring and strategy adjustment.

Of course, it's important to remember that there already is a scientific term for when AI blunders - AI models tend to be "hallucinating". Any takeaways need to be challenged and checked in detail and just like with regular chat-based AI - the output, results and getting an edge over competition will depend a lot on testing early and often and mastering these new tools.

2. Marketplace Insights: the SEO radar is getting stronger

Another useful addition inside Marketplace Insights is the new Conversion rate column.

This update gives us a clearer idea of how likely a search term is to actually lead to a purchase, not just how popular the keyword is. Etsy now shows conversion indicators based on how likely a shopper is to buy after searching for a specific term. This is calculated over the last 30 days, these ratings represent how often a search led to a purchase relative to the performance of other terms across Etsy.

The conversion rate is shown in 5 levels:

This one too needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Keywords with very few searches, tend to show very high conversion rates which may misrepresent the value of these phrases. E.g. a keyword with 10 monthly searches and 723,000 search results is not necessarily a unicorn and the "very high" conversion rate label is slightly questionable.

But still, this is a very useful addition - the first time we receive any actual data about the connection between keywords and orders outside of the Etsy Ads Manager. When used in the context of a solid SEO strategy, this really helps to turn Marketplace Insights into an increasingly useful decision-making tool.

3. Writing Assistant Beta: faster buyer replies without losing the human touch

Etsy is also testing a Writing Assistant for buyer messages.

The Writing Assistant is an optional AI-powered tool that helps you draft responses to buyers. Etsy says it can use relevant shop information, including item descriptions and similar past messages, to create drafts that match your voice. You remain in control and can edit, personalize, or start from scratch.

This may sound like a small customer service update, but it can have a real impact on conversion. Etsy says shop owners who reply to pre-purchase buyer messages in less than two days had a 27% higher conversion rate on average, based on 2024 conversion metrics.

That makes fast replies more than just good service. They are part of the sales funnel.

At the moment, Etsy says the Writing Assistant is available to select English-speaking U.S. sellers, with plans to roll it out to more stores over time. You can find details in the Etsy Seller Handbook article.

4. Redesigned Offsite Ads dashboard: better visibility into external traffic

While not strictly an AI feature, the redesigned Offsite Ads dashboard fits into the same bigger trend: Etsy is giving us more analytical tools and visibility into where traffic comes from so we can make informed decisions about Etsy SEO strategy.

The new dashboard gives us a clearer view of how Offsite Ads contribute to traffic and sales. It shows revenue, fees, visits, top-performing channels, and top-performing listings in one place. Etsy also says you will be able to track traffic generated by Offsite Ads even when it does not lead directly to a purchase.

This matters because Offsite Ads have often felt like a black box. You could see sales and fees, but it was harder to understand the full discovery path. Now, with more visibility into visits and channels, we can better evaluate which listings are attracting external traffic and whether they are actually converting - and test improvements when needed.

The bigger picture here is that we are getting more tools focusing on Etsy SEO analysis - which is understandable as SEO is the biggest growth driver for sellers and for the marketplace itself. The new tools are giving us more ways to monitor performance in real time, understand buyer intent, spot stronger SEO opportunities, and make faster decisions about where to focus.

But as always, AI should be treated as a support tool. The data can point us in the right direction, but it still needs to be challenged, tested, and interpreted through real shop experience. That human layer is what turns insights into smart actions.

As Etsy continues to expand these features, we continue monitoring what is actually useful, what still needs work, and integrating these updates into the Etsy SEO Success Program to build stronger, more visible, and better-performing shops.
