How an emotional-support small business focused on feel-good, giftable products like stickers, stationery, journals, pins, tote bags, and other uplifting everyday accessories, updated its old titles and tags, fixed a dropping traffic trend, and generated its highest number of total orders for the year in May 2026 - bringing Etsy Ads performance to a record 240% ROAS within 60 days.

The Client
A shop with history that needed growth to match its potential
This established emotional-support Etsy shop has been active since 2019, built around empowering designs and strong emotional appeal. The brand has generated over 45,100 total sales and developed a large number of listings, a total of 606 products, giving it a solid foundation and clear market presence.
Over time, growth started to slow. The shop was still relying on keywords from 2022, which began to limit visibility in Etsy search.
1) Performance Data: Short-Term Breakout (March – April 2026)
During the first nine months of 2025, the performance was steadily growing and was expected to continue this positive trend into the final quarter. However, during the holiday season, it dropped by an average of 28%. This downward trend has also continued into Q1 of 2026. That’s where we came in.
Within the first 30-60 days of optimization, the shop started to show immediate improvement. By April, it was clear this wasn’t just a short-term spike, but a shift in how the shop was performing in Etsy search and Etsy ads.

Clicks and impressions in April increased compared to March, driven by targeted keywords on landing pages, while CPC remained stable.
2) Year-Over-Year Growth & Performance Breakdown
Etsy shop performance is turning around. By April 2026, the short-term optimization phase already showed clear improvements across key metrics:
Organic Traffic
↑ 34% MoM
Stronger Etsy search visibility after title and tag optimization, bringing in more qualified traffic
Etsy Ads Efficiency
Peak 240% ROAS
Improved ad efficiency by focusing spend on listings already ranking in Etsy search
Revenue Shift
New #1 product
SEO-optimized listings starting to outperform, creating a clear top product and reducing reliance on one item
Year-over-Year Revenue
Gap closed
April revenue matched the record levels from April 2025
An early April snapshot confirmed strong momentum across the Etsy shop: organic traffic up 34%, ad efficiency peaking at 240% ROAS, a new top-selling product emerging, and the year-over-year revenue gap nearly closed. Not a short-term spike, a clear shift in performance.
The Strategy
The work focused on Etsy SEO recovery, aligning listings with seasonal demand, ad optimization, and improving storefront structure. Every change was designed to work together.
1) Organic Visibility Reset - Rebuilding how the shop ranks in Etsy search
The first priority was fixing how the shop was being discovered in Etsy search. Across the 606-product catalog, we reworked titles and tags to move away from descriptive wording and toward real buyer intent - the kind of phrases people actively search for when looking for emotional, giftable products like “anxiety support” and “wellness gift.” This was about rebuilding visibility, not just updating keywords.
2) Seasonal Visibility - Tapping into Etsy’s seasonal trends
Instead of treating listings as static, we targeted Etsy seasonal landing pages like “Easter Basket Stuffers” and updated mid-performing listings to match those searches. This created fast ranking wins in seasonal search and helped re-activate visibility in Etsy’s algorithm.
3) Ad Efficiency - Focusing ad spend on listings with high quality score
Etsy Ads were paused, cleaned up, and rebuilt around listings already performing well organically. This eliminated spend on low-intent traffic and concentrated budget only on products that were converting in search.
4) Storefront Structure - Turning traffic into guided browsing
With more traffic coming in, the focus shifted to conversion. The shop was reorganized into clear product sections, removing confusion and helping buyers quickly find what they were looking for. Best-performing products were also brought higher in the layout to match real buying behavior on Etsy.
The Results
The impact went beyond revenue growth. A more stable Etsy shop. By May 2026, the early growth phase had turned into steady performance across the whole shop.
Record Traffic
May 2026 became the highest-traffic month of the year, surpassing April’s seasonal peak. More visitors than any other month in 2026

Yearly Orders Peak
May recorded the highest total orders of 2026, closing the year-over-year gap. Full recovery phase in progress

New Collection Performance
Journals and pre-made stickers led growth, while listings from the March 16th launch began ranking and gaining steady search visibility. New products are starting to gain traction

Stronger Product Mix
The revenue in April is no longer driven by a single main product. The store is not relying on one “signature pin” anymore, and we have built multiple strong products that support overall growth.

Strategic Takeaways
What this actually shows
This is a strong example of what happens when Etsy growth is approached as a full system - not just listing tweaks, but shop-wide optimization. The gains didn’t come from one quick fix. They came from consistent improvements working together:
- Stronger search presentation that improved how listings appear in Etsy search and increased relevance to buyer intent
- More precise keyword targeting that re-indexed a 606-product catalog and brought in more qualified traffic
- Smarter ad management that shifted budget toward listings already proving they can convert in search
- Seasonal alignment that used giftable products to capture visibility during high-traffic shopping periods
- New collection optimization that helped fresh listings appear in search faster and generate early traction
- Storefront structure improvements that made it easier for buyers to navigate and find high-performing products quickly
